95 gm Butter
3 Tbsp Golden syrup
75 gm Brown sugar
1 Tbsp Water
225 gm Plain flour
� tsp Bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp Cinnamon
� tsp Ground ginger
Preheat the oven to 180�C.
Melt the butter, golden syrup and water in a saucepan or in a bowl in the microwave. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. If the dough seems too wet, add a bit more flour.
Turn out onto a floured board and roll to about 1cm thickness. Cut into required shapes and place on a greased or lined baking tray. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
For chocolate biscuits, replace the spices with 65gm of chocolate melted with the butter.
